Devanshu Narang

Devanshu grew up in India and moved to the U.S. at 18. He completed his bachelor's degree in visual arts in 2012 and had already freelanced with clients ranging from mom and pop shops to NASA, UNEP and a whole other list of clients. After two sold out painting exhibits in Brookings, SD, he moved to Sioux Falls and started to put together a business idea that involved doing right by the client, providing ultra high quality work, doing it fast and doing it with people he loved. He founded Designation in January 2015 and has been handling business development, layouts, designs and sales while juggling his car-less existence with a year-old puppy.

He practices his fundamentals daily and strives to push harder on each project.

Gabe Gartner

With influences spanning from Catullus to Coyier, Gabe puts his love of alliteration to use in this bio and his love of semantic code to use on the layouts he builds. His new favorite bit of code is filter-effects on SVGs. Check out his experiments on CodePen or hit him up @gabegartner if you want to talk code, baseball or gardening. Or if you just want to talk. He's a good listener

Jonathan Turner

Jonathan is Designation’s self-assigned full-stack developer and resident boat captain. Jonathan is Mr. Flexible; he can work on just about anything you throw at him (and he does yoga!). He approaches the world of technology and development with a childlike wonder and curiosity. He was one of the original members of Designation and hails from South Dakota. When he’s not at his computer, he’s telling people to “don’t fake the funk on a nasty dunk.”

Abraham Lincoln once said, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree, and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe,” and that’s the sort of attitude Jonathan brings to the office on a daily basis.

Andrew Meyer

Andrew is Designation’s backend software engineer. He scoffs at bad interfaces and hates when problems aren’t perfectly defined. If you have a problem that needs solving, Andrew will not stop until it is solved, regardless of his own personal health. Afterwards, he will run into the mountains for a couple weeks to cool off and reconnect with the universe. He works remotely in Germany, so when you are asleep, he is hard at work, making sure you wake up to the smell of success. Andrew enjoys european cuisine, fine beer and wine, dangerous outdoor activities, difficult software puzzles, playing every instrument in the band and constantly learning more and more everyday.
